Attending the Days, out loud
Every essay now carries my voice.
The essays now carry my voice.
A small addition to the Attending shelf: I recorded each essay aloud, and the audio sits at the top of every post. Press play in the Substack app or on the web, and the words arrive the way they were spoken. I read every draft aloud before it earns its place here. Now you’re in the room for it.
These pieces began in shared places anyway. A bedtime question. A kitchen sink. A word that landed and wears through me still. It feels right they can meet you as sound.
And for those who live by their ears: Attending the Days is now a proper podcast. You’ll find it on Spotify, Apple, YouTube, or wherever you keep your listening. The porch light is on.
If your eyes are full today, let your ears do the attending for a while.
